People have taken to different streets in Tokyo and other parts of the hugely populated country to protest against the decision by authorities to allow the biggest sporting event, Olympics, to go on as eventually scheduled, amidst escalating Covid-19 cases in the country.
According to the Washington Post, protesters shut down one of the busiest roads in Tokyo on their way to the vicinity of the opening ceremony Tokyo. The protests are still ongoing, just hours away from the opening ceremony. Protesters are insisting the 2020 Tokyo Olympics be cancelled.
