Government has  expressed interest in renaming one of the  Capital city’s avenues after the business phylanthropist the late Dr. Alhajj Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK).

It was  revealed on Wednesday afternoon by State minister for public service Uganda  Mary Mugasa who also said her commendation to rename the avenue after the fallen tycoon was fully barked  by parliament.

“Unlike other successful business people  in this country, Dr Alhajji BMK shared his trade secrets especially in his book entitled My story of building a fortune in Africa,” Kampala Central  MP Muhammad Nsereko reacted.

Aruu County MP Christopher Komakech also stressed the need to recognize out standing people in the country  while they were still alive and that the 11th parliament should adopt the culture.

On Monday during BMK’s  burial, deputy speaker  Anitah Among made similar statements suggesting that one  of  the streets in Kampala be renamed  after the deceased.  Other Legislators also eulogized the late BMK for his humanity.

If renamed, Wampewo will become among the very  few Avenues in upscale Kampala to be renamed after a Ugandan.
