President Museveni Sunday announced the death of one his aunts, Kaaka Jiresi Keminagano.
Jiresi, 97, died Saturday evening at Nakasaero Hospital in Kampala from conditions related to old age and long-time immobility in a wheelchair, according to a statement tweeted by the president on Sunday.
“She will be buried at Rwakitura, tomorrow.
“Only very few people have been requested to conduct the burial in accordance with the COVID-19 regulations.
The relatives, acquaintances, and friends, are requested not to try and congregate at the burial because it is dangerous and has no value addition,” Mr Museveni, 76, said.
According to the president, a video recording of the burial will be done and shared with all concerned.
“We praise the Lord Almighty for her long life. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
“This is to inform all relatives, friends, acquaintances, and the NRM fraternity,” he added.
