Vipers SC has been crowned winners of the Uganda Cup after defeating BULFC 8-1, at the Njeru based FUFA technical centre on Sunday.

Vipers defender, Livingstone Mulondo scored their first goal in the third minute of the game. The other scorers for Vipers included Yunus Ssentamu with four goals, Caesar Manzoki scored two while Milton Karisa scored one goal.

BULFC’s only goal was scored by Hamis Tibita in the 73rd minute of the game.

Mulondo was crowned as the best defender of the tournament, while Manzoki was the tournament’s top scorer with seven goals.

BUL FC suffered a setback in the 55th minute of the game after their main goalkeeper, Sanon Mulabi suffered a back injury, but they lacked a second-choice goalkeeper.

The club management zeroed on their lead striker, Musa Esenu, who was assigned the task of manning their net throughout the remaining minutes of the game.

BULFC’s head coach, Alex Isabirye says that his team is comprised of majorly young players who sustained injuries in their semifinal game against Express and as a result, they failed to out-compete Vipers, which had a more physically fit team.

The Vipers’ Assistant Coach, Marcelo Cardoso said that the win is an indicator that, the boys are adhering to their new philosophy of earning early wins and exhibiting an attacking format of football against their opponents.

Vipers walked away with 50 million Shillings while BULFC earned 20 million Shillings.
