The results of the post-mortem done on the body of the late Kayunga District LCV Chairperson Ffefeka Sserubogo suggest he committed suicide.

The post-mortem report was conducted at Mulago hospital by three senior surgeons and one independent doctor provided by the family.  It was also conducted in the presence of one family member Abubakar Kikuubo and the District Vice Chairperson Joel Kayiira.

According to Charles Twine, Sserubogo hanged himself using a rope that broke the spinal code in the neck area.

Sserubugo was found hanging dead on a jack fruit tree on Wednesday morning. His death raised concerns among his supporters who claim that Sserubogo could have been killed. They demanded a clear report explaining what caused the death of their Chairperson.

Hadijah Nalumaga, the wife to the deceased says that Sserubogo returned home at around 7 pm but appeared depressed and refused to eat food.

According to Nalumaga, in the morning Sserubogo woke up around 6 am and told her that he was moving out to pray and asked her to prepare breakfast. Nalumaga says that she was shocked when one of the casual workers told her that Sserubugo was hanging dead on a tree.

On Thursday, Sserubogo was laid to rest at his ancestral home ground located at Kyebanja, Kayunga Sub County.

Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, the Leader of Opposition-LOP asked the family of Sserubogo and his supporters to remain strong.

The tree which Sserubogo hanged himself on was cut down by family members and residents to expel the curse from the family.

His brother Kikuubo notes that they have lost a strong pillar in the family.
