The Namayingo resident district commissioner-RDC and several of his contacts are under self quarantine after they tested positive for corona virus.
The others includes his office staff and some Covid-19 task force committee members who were his contact of contacts.
Yahaya Kakoza, the Namayingo district Covid-19 Taskforce Chairperson and RDC in a phone interview with our reporter says that he developed symptoms of coronavirus and was subjected to the test and was confirmed positive.
Kakoza says he was confirmed positive and advised to go for self isolation and is currently under home based care at his home in Kampala. He says that the other persons are his office staff and several others who were his contact of contacts.
He however says that he is soon completing his 14 days of self quarantine then expects to get back in the district to resume office duties by next week.
Kakoza says the Covid-19 situation in Namayingo is alarming and attributed the surge to location of the area at the border where people from Kenyause porous points in the lake to cross and enter in the area.
He appealed to residents to take it seriously and observe standard operating procedures because the virus is real.
Namayingo district have so far registered over 16 deaths and 900 positive coronavirus cases got from 1,250 samples that were tested.
