Police have launched a manhunt for unknown assailants behind the death of a pump attendant at Grassland Fuel Station in Butaleja town council. The 22-year-old Bob Wandage was found dead at the pump station on Monday morning.

According to Police, the deceased’s colleagues found his lifeless body lying in front of the pump around 4:00 AM.  The Bukedi South Police Spokesperson, Moses Mugwe told reporters that the security guard at the fuel pump station, Asuman Guloba reported Wandage’s murder to the police.

He says Butaleja District Police Commander Aggrey Twesigye and the Homicide team immediately visited the scene to ascertain the circumstances under, which Wandage met his death. He said that preliminary police investigations point to murder, saying the Security Guard who reported the matter has been detained since he was on duty with the deceased at the time of death.

Butaleja Resident District Commissioner, Stanley Bayoole, says they are yet to establish the motive of the killers. He asked residents to cooperate with the Police and provide any information leading to the whereabouts of the killers.

Last week, a similar incident happened in Bugolobi, a Kampala City suburb when two security guards were killed by unknown assailants.
