Promoted to Super League in 2006 and now ranked among the most organized and significant teams in the region, Vipers Sports Club should not be ignored by any author of important sports pieces in the world.
As the entire country is now busy keeping silent, with eyes glued on politics, we would like to use this opportunity to make sure we teach our growing audiences here more about the game of Football in Uganda.
I was surprised when some notable people in the country took the Mutyaba clobbering incident at FUFA house in April for granted.
Magogo is slowly, but steadily, moving up, into more things, uninterrupted.
Bowing to pressure from armed journalists, who often hit his ribs with pens, Lawrence Mulindwa called it a day in 2013 and handed the baton to the them extremely ambitious Moses Magogo.
He (Mulindwa) now spends most of his time thinking, with his intelligent team he employs, of how his School, St Mary’s Secondary School-Kitende, can continue being both good at sports and academics.
Mulindwa’s school is among the most famous and powerful secondary schools in Uganda. We stood together with him in the early 2000s and, helped him battle with the enemy of the beautiful game of Football in Uganda, Denis Obua. Mulindwa was FUFA from 2005-2013.
Vipers Sports Club players are among the most paid and motivated Football players in Uganda. Vipers SC players, before playing any game, are complete and contented.
They are hosting their games on well-maintained turf. Their boss Lawrence and CEO, Simon Peter Njuba, are among the most diligent Sports men in Uganda.
A Vipers player will not open his mouth in disbelief if he meets a gym with all needed equipment in it. These things, to make a player rest in his heart, are all there at Kitende.
A man, who is willing to sell his land to Mulindwa, so that he can expand his stadium, told me recently that when the time comes, he will do so willingly.
Mulindwa, according to the neighbours of St. Mary’s Sports facility, at Kitende, is an extremely approachable and lovable man. They will indeed sell land to him, so that he can expand his now half-completed stadium.

Hassan Kasingye recently protested and made his way to the glittering turf at Kitende. Police Football Club, according to Kasingye, had been robbed of its deserved victory at Kitende. Kasingye’s behavior was uncalled for. Mulindwa has money but, he also knows all the repercussions of winning a Football game unfairly.
Nigerian teams like Lobi Stars FC, that are today struggling, now know it well that a team cannot be buy match officials forever.
When buying referees was common place at Lobi Stars Football Club, no team could beat them at Aper Aku Stadium, their home ground. They are today rubbing shoulders with demoralized teams like Sunshine Stars, MFM, Adamawa United, Wikki Tourists and other confused teams in Nigeria. Stealing is evil.
Mulindwa’s Vipers are a team that will beat any team that comes to face it disorganized and unwilling to fight the entire ninety minutes.
Vipers are a focused Football Club. They can win any game when they wish, on any pitch in East Africa. I yesterday wrote that Vipers, coached by Fred Kajoba, will bring problems to KCCA FC’s Morley Byekwaso. Vipers beat KCCA 2-1 at Lugogo. It was expected.
Byekwaso will (soon) to be sacked, or demoted. Vipers!

Sports Club Vipers is the only Football team in Uganda that has almost successfully fought to make sure the meaning of the abbreviation VEK is altered. But will Villa remain among the teams in VEK when its relevance and importance are waning on a daily basis? Villa is sinking, like a stone.
One day, we shall see Vipers among VEK clubs, replacing Villa.
The Vipers CEO, who is a former student of Kitende and an IT expert, is a lesson to all club administrators in Uganda.
Simon Peter Njuba loves Football so much that he can even sob when his Club Vipers loses. He silently sobbed when title contenders Express FC beat his well-paid and facilitated team at Kitende recently.
But how could VEK Clubs stop misbehaving if Mulindwa didn’t look far, to see to it that an important Club, with a state-of-the-art stadium, is thought about and made a reality?
Vipers forced moneyed KCCA Football Club to wake up. Legend Omondi stadium is now being transformed into something that a curious on looker can respect.
As long Vipers SC is still active and yearning for more success, you will soon see Express FC, Sports Club and URA Football Club also devising means of building their own stadia.
He (Lawrence Mulindwa) is no longer FUFA president but he makes more sense, perhaps, than the current FUFA president.
If these people can think of how a strong fan base can be set up, Vipers, in a few years’ time, will be among the most followed and organized Football Clubs on the continent.

Mulindwa is a determined Sports man and shrewd business man. He can buy every kind of player in Africa, as long as it is what it will take for his team Vipers to become more important than what it is today.
No club, among the sixteen currently participating in the Uganda Premier League, can now relax, to sleep soundly. Vipers! The speed is huge. You cannot rest or slumber if you are, the following day, playing against Vipers Sports Club.
We today spare some time and write long articles about Football in Uganda. The English Premier League had completely grabbed Football writers’ attention. I couldn’t, more than a decade ago, waste my ink in my rare pen to write, promoting Football in Uganda.
Mulindwa and his Vipers woke us up. He is the only business man in Uganda with his own stadium.
The weak and lazy never side with the Mulindwas of this world. Mulindwa is revered by honest referees. You must fear and officiate properly when you enter Vipers intimidating stadium.
VEK clubs should wake up, and do what Mulindwa and Vipers have done. Vipers is today teaching big and needed lessons to Villa and Express Football Club, and Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club.
