I have admitted it that Magogo is ranked number one on the list of those who have spent sleepless nights working to make sure Uganda becomes a respected Footballing nation.
You are sick when you say Magogo is a very bad man who deserves to take a seat, to keep quiet, as others are up on their feet talking.
His enemies slept while war raged and allowed Magogo lay the strategies he had only heard about. Uganda cranes qualified for AFCON for the first in almost 40 years in 2017.
As we all rose on our feet to say it was luck that The cranes qualified, it was done again. We made it again, to 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The best revenge is massive success. Very many Magogo enemies kept quiet.
Joseph Kabuleta the former presidential candidate participating in the recently held presidential elections opened his mouth in disbelief and asked himself how a young boy who once held Lawrence Mulindwa’s bag could do such things famous men in the Football sector had failed to achieve, despite trying for decades.
These successes are the real reasons why Magogo now has more enemies than any man (except the leader of a country) needs.
Born in then Kamuli district and starting real schooling at Kagulu Primary School, Magogo’s parents saw in him a determined boy who if watched keenly would one day steer this country to greater heights. Finishing his primary education at little-known Kagulu, Magogo was taken to Jinja College and Namilyango College.
This man Magogo is a mathematician who loves holding a calculator whenever he is asked to do something.
The Dhamuzungu team in the run up to the January 14 elections thought Magogo had commenced wasting his time and money when he said he would travel back home in Buyende, camp in Budiope East constituency, and for a long period of time, to convince the Budiope people that he was their son who had made them proud when he successfully served as a FUFA president.
Of course he was mocked and ridiculed in the beginning. He campaigned and Budiope East people were convinced.
He beat incumbent Dhamuzungu in the NRM primaries. He beat adamant Geoffrey Dhamuzungu when he stood against him again, during the January 14 elections.
Magogo is today the MP-elect of Budiope East constituency, an area almost hundreds of kilometers away from FUFA headquarters in Mengo.
He knows Ugandans very well. At first they laugh at you. Then they ignore you. Then they fight you. Then you win.
Magogo knows you Ugandans very well. He on April 6, 2021 announced it officially that he would seek a third term as FUFA president. And what is wrong with it probably when he speaks his mind?
At Jinja College and Namilyango, Magogo led as others followed in academics and sports. As a Sports Scientist at Makerere University, I loved football and basketball but I hated athletics.
Moses Magogo was both good at Football and athletics. This man Magogo!
At school Magogo was a bright boy. He read his books while others’ appetite to party was among the options at Namilyango and Jinja College.
He knew that time would come for these things here to happen. During his reign, Uganda has gone for AFCON two times. He promised and delivered. Now according to him, the two terms were for preparing the field.
It is time for real sowing. Magogo wants Uganda to qualify for World Cup. This has never happened and people are laughing. He is a man of many words but he acts. We shall wait and see.
We are happy to inform you that being a Member of Parliament may not prevent one from doing it in the game of football. Magogo can.
I would like too, to inform you that you should not ask me more about the achievements of FUFA under Magogo.
They (FUFA) have a well-paid team of good spokesmen who will tell us more about the admirable side of that man Magogo.
No one has so far come out to openly inform the world that they will contest for the FUFA seat but I know some of them are going to be politicians and in Parliament like Magogo.
Others are going to be former Football players. These players successfully played Football in the 20th century. Others entered into the coaching sector and failed miserably. I respect whispers and rumours. I listen to them.
We don’t think George Ssimwogerere, a man who is short-tempered to that extent, can lead the beautiful game of Football to the destination we are eyeing now.
While at Express Football Club, Ssimwogerere dumped in mud the clothes he had washed for decades. Express FC almost got relegated under Football legend George Ssimwogerere.
If it is true that Allan Ssewanyana and George Ssimwogerere are among those that will enter the about to be erected ring with Magogo, be sure (because you have heard what I have said), Magogo will later this year (in August) be FUFA president again.
But who can at the moment defeat Moses Magogo? No one!
