President Yoweri Museveni has called on members of the public to report Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), who do not provide service delivery to the population. He asked the public to supervise the leaders and report those who fall short of their obligations to serve people.

President Museveni made the remarks during the ongoing retreat of National Resistance Movement (NRM) new Members of Parliament elect at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi.

He was responding to concerns that some RDCs have a habit of keeping away from their duties and stations. Museveni said that he is ready to take action against them.

“These RDCs, you say some of them do not even stay where we have posted them. Get me a good report about these people if they are not doing our work and I will fire them immediately. Find me better cadres who are willing to take on their jobs and serve our people,” Museveni said.

President Museveni also warned leaders against corruption, urging that leaders who are found guilty of corruption and embezzlement will not be spared as long as they are incriminated with evidence.

He blamed such leaders for the increased cases of land grabbing that have gripped Buganda, claiming that such leaders are not helping the people at all. Analysts have since said that unless the president comes out with an iron hand against the land grabbers, the vice will continue.
