The Buganda Kingdom Prime Minster (Katikkiro) Charles Peter Mayiga has disregarded the ongoing rumors about the health condition of the Kabaka saying that the king has been suffering from a severe allergy and not poison like it was earlier alleged.

According to the Katikkiro, speculations and rumors have been circulating especially via different social media platforms about the Kabaka being given poison

The Katikkiro therefore noted that these were false rumors that all Ugandans needed to treat with the contempt it deserves as this information was spread and intended to bring harm to the Buganda kingdom

“Like any other human being, the Kabaka also falls sick and can have health complications at any time in life,” he said

The Katikkiro revealed this during his speech at Bulange Mengo, this afternoon.

The Katikkiro also revealed that there was a team of professional doctors that were working around the clock to see that the Kabaka was back to on his feet. “This should be soon,” he noted. Mayiga added that his (Kabaka’s) health was getting better day by day.

Following the public appearance of the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II earlier on this week during his 66  birthday celebrations, there has been many controversies as many Ugandans continued to speculate about the health condition of the Buganda king.

The Kabaka, who seemingly appeared distressed and out of shape, was seen struggling even at the time he was cutting his birthday cake.

The public also witnessed unusual occurrences when the royal family “His children” served the cake to the public a thing that had never been done in the Buganda Culture.

Others were juggling between whether he was supposed to appear in the public or not while some even blamed the Katikkiro for the king’s none befitting health condition.

The Katikkiro however explained that this health issue ‘Allergy’, can be acquired by anyone due to the foods they take, the infections from farm products, on the dust among others.

A condition that is frequently experienced by the king especially when he puts on his mask

‘Ekizibu kino oluusi kiva ku mmere gyetulya oluusi ku mpumbu eva ku bimuli, oluusi kiva ku nfuufu n’ebintu ebirala bingi.

“Era obuzibu bwa ‘Allergy’ oluusi bumukaluubiriza mu kussa naddala nga ayambadde akakookolo.

“Abaabadde ku mukolo gw’amazaalibwa ku lunaku olwo naabo abagoberedde omukolo guno ku TV ne ku mutimbagano balabye nga waliwo ekikyuseeko ku ntunula ya Ssaabasajja Kabaka eyabulijjo.

“Nga omuntu omulala yenna waliwo ebiseera lwetufuna obukosefu nga omuntu omulala yenna, ” Peter Mayiga stated, in Luganda.
