Moses Magogo recently described him as the only empowered CEO in Uganda Premier League. The youthful CEO is undoubtedly among the most outstanding managers of football players that this country has as we speak. Described as very friendly by those who know him better, Mwesigwa is, on the other hand, a no nonsense administrator who first barks at reporters before talking to them for hours. He is agreeable and loveable, his right hand men say.
While talking to him recently at his office in Kamwokya, Mwesigwa told me that he would do everything he could to catapult Express FC to the place it deserves. Indeed he is about to deliver. When we met, in his glittering office, the league had just started. Express had unconvincingly performed at Onduparaka and Mbarara City.
He told me Express of this season was not ‘here’ to merely participate, and follow as the rest (Vipers and KCCA) led. “We are not here to joke. Express is among the most respected football teams in the country and back to those glory days we are heading,” Mwesigwa told me when I sat with him in his spacious office in Kamwokya where he almost on a daily basis sits with his fellow strategists to think for the oldest club in Uganda.
These people are the reason why Express FC has lost only one game so far in 2020-2021 season that will resume again on 31st March.
Mwesigwa, despite his inability to control anger, is deeply revered by the players at Wankulukuku. The entire technical bench at the club believes it Isaac Mwesigwa is the only man perhaps that the club needed to wake up from where it had slept for close to a decade.
The Eagles are high in the air flying. They are sitting third on the log with 32 points garnered from only 15 games. That is so interesting. Thanks to Isaac Mwesigwa’s incredible managerial skills.
Under the guidance of Express management, Mwesigwa signed every player that the coaches, led by Wasswa Bbosa, wanted. Express FC is among the football clubs in Africa with the most loyal fans. To make its fans happy and satisfied, you must be a man in the caliber of Mwesigwa.
As encouraged by Isaac Mwesigwa and the team, Express FC fans say are ready to buy seasonal tickets so as to access the Betway Muteesa II stadium when the second round commences.
Moses Magogo was right when he recently praised Isaac Mwesigwa in a social media post that later went viral. Kiryowa Kiwanuka and CEO Mwesigwa will indeed make Express FC great again. Magogo said Isaac Mwesigwa was the only empowered CEO in Uganda Premier League. He was right.
