After a period of nearly three months of no sleep and intensive campaigns, The Uganda Volleyball Federation has ushered in anew board of administration.
The board which was launched in presence of 284 delegates saw Sadik Nasiwu emerge winner with 227 votes, three time contendant Eddie Okila followed with 27 votes while Ms Hadija Namanda who was the incumbent president took third place with 20 votes.
The elections were over seen by NCS chairman Donald Rukale at Lugogo hockey grounds.
Nasiwu was president of the federation from 2009 -2015 and his convincing victory gave Hadija Namanda the incumbent run for her money with a difference of 207 votes.
“With the many votes It shows how the delegates still believe in us,” Nasiwu said while giving his congratulatory speech.
He however added that there are still many expectations for the board deliver.
Currently the board is comprised of seven representatives and they include: The first vice person Abdallah Kiggundu who won with153 votes , the second vice president Salma Kairungi Otika who won with 129, general secretary Godwin Nakaana Ssenyondo with 188 votes, Ass general secretary Eunice Nuwabigaba who emerged with 212 votes and treasure Joseph Odong who won with 104 votes, the premier club and district representatives Levian Ashaba with 18votes, innocent komakech 42 votes for the north/east, Elisha Kamuhimbise was also unopposed for west/south, Joshua Osiya stood unopposed for Central
Nasiwu is set to preside from 2021- 2024 looking forward to his next assignment as he formulates a commission and a plan for the special congress later in December.
