The Uganda police Force has earlier today raided Kyengera Town Council Mayoral aspriant’s home Mathias Mulumba Walukaga after they received information that he (walukaga) was holding a gathering Contrally to the set COVID-19 guidelines.
According to ASP Luke Oweyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police spokesperson, Nsangi police carried out an operation at the home of Mathias Walukaga located in Maya Sub County Wakiso District and arrested 45 suspects.
“The operation was as a result of information of a group of people who had gathered at the musician’s home for a reason not yet known,” he said.
News of the raid started spreading yesterday night where romurs also stated that the musician turned politician had been badly beaten.
Oweyesigyire however noted that Walukaga wasn’t arrested since upon seeing police officers he managed to escape and took cover in his home.
He further notes that most of the arrested are residents of Kawempe division in Kampala who are currently detained at Nateete police station pending court appearance.
“The suspects are being processed and will be arraigned in courts of law at any time,” he revealed.
“They are to be charged with doing negligent acts likely to spread an infection of a disease,” Oweyesigyire added.
