They are still dark days for NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu’s music partner Ali Buken alias Nubian Lee and Edward Ssebufu alias Eddy Mutwe the head of Kyagulanyi’s personal security detail following the unsuccessful attempt to attain court bail today Monday 8.

The makindye court martial has today only granted bail to 13 out of the 49 Supporters and private guards of Kyagulanyi that were arrested on a campaign trail in Kalangala on charges of unlawful possession of ammunition.

In a court chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti, prosecution side led by Capt. Ambrose Guma noted that the they would only allow bail application of 12 NUP supporters.

The court chairman in his ruling also allowed bails of only 13 applicants though under strict conditions.

Lt Gen Gutti revealed to the group of 13 that they are to move outside Kampala and Wakiso districts with only  court’s permission and to report to the court twice a month.

“Each of you is supposed to pay shs20 million non -cash bond and each of your sureties to pay shs50 million non -cash. Breach of any of the above terms will lead to automatic cancellation of the bail,”Gutti told the group.

Amongst the released include Rachel Akiki Tusime, Saphina Nansove, Jamira Namwanje Kalyango, Shakira Namboozo, Joy Namuyimba, Monica Twashemerirwe, Oliver Lutaya and Benedicto Musisi.

The court chairman however revealed that Nubian Li and Eddie Mutwe and 36 others will have to wait longer for the court to rule on their bail on February 15.

Prosecution alleges that all the 49 suspects and others still at large on January 3, at Makerere Kavule Kigundu zone, were found in possession of four rounds of ammunition which is only a property of the Defense Forces.
