By Our reporter The family of the late John Kafureeka a former resident of Ngando village. Ngooma Sub County, NAKASONGOLA District is demanding for proper and in – depth investigation on who murdered their relative. Mr Kafureeka was murdered by cutting off his head at his home on August 5, 2020 by unknown men whose family suspects to be linked to a longtime family wrangle. On the mentioned fateful night, “The deceased came back home at around 10:00 pm. He realized that we had forgotten to lock the kitchen door, so he woke us up to go and lock it and that was the last time we saw him. The Children say that they were woken up early morning by the constant crying of the little child who usually slept with the deceased in the main house on getting out they only found the whole house widely open with their “uncle” as they reffered to him missing. All things in the house were disorganized. They then went to call the herdsman to help them in the search for their uncle who was not in the main house. I realized at that particular moment that my other colleague was also missing ,I rushed to check on his things but was shocked that all his belongings were no where to be seen ,his phones where off and my phone battery was also missing ,at that point I was left in shock but had to continue looking for uncle. “What shocked us is seeing his lifeless body leing down in the kraal with the trunk and head completely cut off. We started shouting and making alarms for neighbors come and help us, they said. Late Kafureeka was a herdsman who supplied milk to nearby milk depot which he would have collected from different farmers and would be paid every Tuesday, a tearful wife said. It is reported that on the fateful day, the murderers took away with all his records books and his phone According to his wife, Kafureeka had received his weekly payment from the depot, the wife claims. “The people who killed him must have been within his circles that knew about his weekly payments,” Some sources who spoke to District Focus on condition of anonymity said that Kafureka’s death could also be linked to a deeper internal family wrangles that are connected to one of his son-in- law that is married to his daughter. It is believed that the wrangle between those two families had reached a boiling point where the said daughter decided to run away from the whole family for now more than a year she is still missing, the anonymity source said. The case was filed at Ngooma Police station on reference CBR / 127/20 on August 8, and to date the family has not received proper report from police Efforts to get police comment on this matter were futile as their known phone members were off.
