Well wait for the president address of the nation and fellow Ugandans we shall abide by the decision of our dear President.

The president is likely to relax the lockdown but to what extent?. Ugandans settled down for the Lockdown when we had only one patient and how shall the president open when we now have 227 Covid patient. Kenya our neighbors state has fully started the lockdown and curfew and thousand of the Cargo trucker drivers conditions of work have been lifted including testing every trucking coming into Kenya and going out in order to reduce inter state transmission of the viruses. In Uganda resident s in Bweyogerere, Kireka who live near Nambole are in great fear after government earmarked Nambole National stadium as a station where truck drivers from elsewhere will stop and this likely to be affecting others areas which have designated to host the drivers as they move along with their work. Government has continued to step up standard operating procedure in such areas and will continue to sensitise resident near the surrounding areas and warn citizens from association with the trucker drivers in order to be safe.

President Museveni in one of the Covid 19 Nation address.

We are seeing in the current Covid era the majority of silent killer diseases will much kill Ugandans than Covid say Malaria, pneumonia and pregnant and maternal related cases are currently sky rocketing in the country. Ugandans have not been well oriented and reminded that even solidiers on duty and police are also human being as a result people with sickness at night fail to get out thinking that army men will simply torture them when they want to access the nearby health centers. Well I have personally met with the military officers on road at night surely when you have a genuine reason for being on the road at night, they even help you faster and deliver you to the Health centres.

We continue to applaud our government for recognizing the plight of Ugandans who are locked in their housed but majority sick driver ravages the country, the public is now at large happy at the opening of a government lab at the border to have all trucker drivers tested before they are allowed to access our country. When a driver turn positive he is strictly told to go back and can’t not be allowed to proceed when the results are negative the driver is given clearance to proceed. This has definitely provided hope to majority of Ugandans who are in the lockdown to see a light at the of the tunnel. The ministry of health officials we talked to said together with sister government departments have cooperated and surely we will win this battle of Corona virus together one officer at the boarder point was quick to comment.

I await the president to speak to us after the 60 days of lockdown and hope that he will relax the lockdown so that we are able to overcome the effects of hunger and other non Covid ailments.
