Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom applauds MPs on inclusion of Bunyoro history in new curriculum.

The Bunyoro Kitara Administration has appreciated the parliamentary debate on the inclusion of Bunyoro history in the curriculum of lower secondary level which they say is important because it’s the craddle of all gropings in the interlacustrine regions and beyond.
In a letter written to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga by the Office of the Prime Minister, Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, the Prime Minister Anddrew Byakutaga, he expressed appreciation to the members of parliament who resolved that new curriculum be corrected to include Bunyoro Kitara history. He says that he hopes that the Curriculum Development centre will consider the resolution of Parliament.

“The people of Bunyoro warmely associate with the members of parliament for rejecting the Ministry of Education explanation on the exclusion of Bunyoro history on the account that “there is a new system to inculcate self discovery for learner’s to acquire knowledge by selves” he said.
The Prime Minister adds that if the Curriculum Development centre expedites the implementation of resolution by parliament to include Bunyoro history, it will restore calm and anxiety.
“It’s our hope that the Curriculum Development Centre will expedite the implementation of the resolution by parliament to restore calm and anxiety the exclusion had created” the Omuhikirwa said.
The letter that was dated 8th May 2020, was copied to Chairperson, Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus, Hon. Stephen Mukitale who doubles as Minister of So ial Affairs, Bunyoro Kingdom.
After the Woman MP Hoima Municipality Hon Businge Harriet opened up the dabate in parliament to follow up National Curriculum Development Centre, many leaders in Bunyoro had their input on the issue. The Minister of Education and Heath in Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, Dr Asiimwe Florence Akiiki said that after following up the debate in parliament, she is planning to mobilise history teachers in Bunyoro and meet Hon Dr Chrisestom Miyingo, the state Minister for Education to discuss the inclusion of Bunyoro history in 3 book including The Curriculum, the teachers guide and the student books.
