PS Launches Official Gov’t Stamps for West Nile LCs, Warns Against Misuse.
The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Local Government Ben Kumumanya has warned LCs and Parish chairpersons in West Nile against misusing the new government official stamps.

While officially launching the stamps and giving them out to some LCs and the district leaders at Arua Mayor’s Gardens on recently, Kamumanya who represented the Local Government Minister Raphael Magyezi said appropriate action as provided for in the law will be taken against LCs who will misuse the official stamps.
According to Kumumanya, the stamps will help build and sustain capacity of local governments and administrative units to function better.
Jimmy Tekwo the LC 1 chairperson for Arua CPS who received the new official stamp from the Permanent Secretary Ben Kumumanya commended governments for the initiative saying it will fully address the numerous challenges of stamp forgeries that were there before.
Meanwhile Agana Aganasi the LC 2 Chairperson of Bazaar Ward in Arua Central Division called for activation of the 5-percent for the LCs revenue from the Ministry of Local government if they are to rid out corrupt use of the new stamps by some of the LCs.

Sam Nyakua the outgoing LC 5 Arua and incoming Mayor Arua City on behalf of the local governments in West Nile explained a lot of problems that arose as a result of forgery of stamps will come to an end because of the new official stamps.

According to the Ministry of local Government, the stamps made in China have security seals which will make it difficult to forge and are easy to detect once used.
