BUNYORO REGION WELL COMES NEW HOIMA OIL CITY.

Local government Minister Raphael Magyezi tasked the interim leadership of Hoima city to focus on building it, improve on security to attract investors rather than engaging in poltical fights, and corruption.

Magyezi was speaking at the launch of Hoima city on Thursday

Hoima oil city is one of the ten new cities that became operational this financial year 2020/21 which include Mbarara, Fort portal, Gulu, Lira, Mbale, Jinja, among others.

Magyezi said that the interim leadership should use all opportunities including oil and Hoima international airport to bring services closer to the people and usher in modern infrastructure, a plan which requires non-fragmented land.

He has revealed that the remaining municipalities in including Wakiso, Entebbe and others will be elevated to city city status in 2025.

Magyezi also chose the interim leadership of divisions

The interim city mayor Grace Mary Mugasa has asked leaders and aspiring candidates to avoid political fights but focus on uniting and working together for development.

Meanwhile  the Bunyoro Kitara Diocess  Bishop Samuel Kuhuma  condemned  the act that was done to the unfaith full people in Ndeeba Kampala by  demolishing St .Peters Cathedral church .

Hoima oil city seats on 228 square kilometers with a population of 171,000 people
